Russian designers at Milan Fashion Week

From 20th to 22th September 13 young Russian designers will represent their capsule collections at the exhibition “Super”, whereas more famous Russian brands, such as Alena Ahmadullina, Vassa, Laroom, Julia Dalakian и Yulia Prokhorova will represent their autumn-summer 2015 collections in Milan showroom Sari Spazio within the international programme #OpenRussianFashion launched by Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and aimed at the support of Russian designers and manufacturers abroad.

The exhibition “Super” in Milan has been organized by Pitti Imagine which is one of the most affluent exhibition companies in Europe holding an event Pitti Uomo in Florence among its other projects. “Super” is an international business stage for more than 200 young talented people working in fashion industry and it attracts over 6000 buyers from Europe, Asia, Middle East and the USA every season. The primary event of this year will be the multi-authored exhibition stand #OpenRussianFashion combining 13 brands of clothes and accessories not only based but producing their collections in Russia. In Milan our country will be presented by Alexander Khrisanphov, Georgy Rushev, Natalie Leskova, Yanina Vekhteva, Anna Slavutina, Maria Golubeva, Lyuda Nikishina, Natasha Vainshtock and the brands Katerinafee, LES’, OSOME2SOME, Sol’Designers, Mineral Weather.

Milan Fashion Week will welcome even more of Russian fashion collections thanks to the famous showroom Sari Spazio which will present autumn-summer 2015 collections of five successful Russian brands to the buyers, and these are Alena Ahmadullina, Vassa, Laroom, Julia Dalakian and Yulia Prokhorova. This year Sari Spazio celebrates 25th anniversary of its activity which will focus extra attention on the collective presentation prepared by Russian designers. On 22nd September Sari Spazio will witness the open day for mass-media and specialists with the participation of the representatives from Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, National Fashion House of Italy (Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana), Association of agents and fashion distributors Assomoda and Russian designers within the programme #OpenRussianFashion.

“Russian Fashion houses have been participating in professional events in Milan, Paris, New-York city for a long time but only one at a time and they also have been working directly with the showrooms. Russian designers have been definitely quite successful in the last several years which demonstrates that Russia can produce something really interesting for international markets, – Viktor Evtukhov, the official secretary, the deputy of the Minister of industry and trade of Russian Federation supervising consumer industry said. – That is why we initiate the programme #OpenRussianFashion to present Russian designers and manufacturers altogether at these big international venues. This is first experience of the kind which consolidates the efforts of single market insiders for full-fledged international positioning of not only the production but of the country itself. The events scheduled in Milan and Beijing will show if the clothes of Russian manufacturers conform to international demands. Today there have been already a lot of discussions about import substitution including the area of consumer goods industry. But in case the clothes made in Russia is able to stay competitive abroad the process of import substitution in Russia will be easy and natural. Supporting the collective participation in the events abroad #OpenRussianFashion can propel the development of the designers in home market as well”.

The events within #OpenRussianFashion will take place in Milan in September and in Beijing in October. The negotiations with the international exhibitions’ organizers in Paris, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Dusseldorf and Florence are being currently held.
