An internationally popular fashion trade show
The summer edition of Modefabriek is once again on the Amsterdam RAI calendar on 12 & 13 July 2015. More than ever before, the internationally popular Modefabriek is mobilising knowledge, tools and inspiration to innovate the fashion industry, particularly retail. Apart from insight into the rapidly evolving retail landscape through essential seminars and lectures, the curated ‘dream shops of the future’ by The Editors and an edgy department store by Outspoken in the connecting hall, this edition will also include more room for The Works platform, with the latest operational tools and services, a highly practical development.
THE WORKS, the toolbox for ambitious retailers
The Works platform, introduced last season in a modest format, will be expanded considerably in size and content this summer. It is a matter of seizing the bull by the horns in style since, after all, the demand for performance tools and services to achieve and optimise today’s shop environment -brick- and-mortar and/or online – is huge. Leave it to Modefabriek to create a praiseworthy and inspiring environment in which professionals with a wide range of expertise and visions can join forces. The latest software, impressive hardware, security gadgets, styling props, legal services, communication advice… you name it, you’ll find it at The Works.
THE EDITORS, the art of curating
The new The Editors platform is also being continued this summer. After the first batch of guest curators who described their ‘dream shop of the future’ during the last edition of Modefabriek, four creative trendsetters will be sharing their visions once again. In
other words, it’s not just about their unique handpicked selection of international designer products -fashion & non-fashion- but also how they are compiled and presented. The first Editor is Amsterdam stylist and blogger Lizzy van de Ligt.

SEMINARS, ‘summer school’ for fashion professionals
Modefabriek has observed a significantly increasing interest in recent seasons for its extensive programme of lectures. This welcome development suggests a healthy, competitive entrepreneurial spirit and professionalisation in the fashion industry. And reason enough for Modefabriek to repeatedly attract the cooperation of an ambitious line-up of relevant speakers. This summer, these speakers are:
– Jan Agelink from Buro Jantrendman with his not-to-be-missed trend presentation
– Retail specialist Max Dekker, who has been assisting major fashion organisations for more than twenty years in developing and implementing their proposition, will be sharing his inspiring style group overview, aimed at giving retailers better insight into their customer base. His motto: ‘The older, the crazier. The road to the future is a road leading away from monotonous fast fashion’.
– Visual Merchandising specialist Ronny de Vylder -previously Senior Specialist Visual at de Bijenkorf- with his dynamic lecture ‘On The Move’
– Coen Fredriks from Coqtail on the magical mix of branding, storytelling and how to use social media to stay in touch with your customers to ‘develop ideas today that will make us happy tomorrow’.
The other speakers will be announced in a future update.
