The annual report highlights key trends, including enhanced cooperation among organizers, sustainable transformation, and evolving trade fair formats targeting new audiences.

Despite challenges such as strikes in the first quarter, Germany’s trade fairs saw significant growth in the first half of 2024, with a 7% rise in exhibitors and a 1% increase in visitors compared to last year. Over 130 trade fairs are scheduled for the second half of the year, culminating in the return of the UFI World Congress in Cologne this November after more than two decades.

Jörn Holtmeier, Managing Director of AUMA, emphasized, “Geopolitical crises demand innovative ideas for trade and business, and the German trade fair industry continues to adapt and lead.”
