The fourth edition of the Pitti Immagine and Fiera Milano trade fair will showcase 200 accessory and prêt-à-porter collections:
with a focus on women’s fashions in tune with today’s markets,
with lots of space dedicated to new and up-and-coming Italian and international talents, plus the special project Open Russian Fashion

SUPER is the Pitti Immagine and Fiera Milano trade fair devoted to women’s accessories and prêt-à-porter, under the patronage of the Milan City Council, to be held in Milan from Saturday 20 to Monday 22 September 2014. This, the fourth edition, will be held in a new location, Pavilion 3 at FieraMilanoCity – Viale Scarampo / Gate 5 and will feature 200 Italian and foreign brands presenting their women’s collections for spring-summer 2015.

“We are presenting the fourth edition of Super at the new location – Pavilion 3, FieraMilanoCity”, says Agostino Poletto, deputy general manager of Pitti Immagine, “fully confirming the identity of this fair project and the important role it has created for itself on the women’s fashion stage. Once again, our marketing team worked hard to put together a unique mix of contemporary fashions with established brands, capsule collections, emerging names and new designers. And it did so by thinking of the market’s needs and concrete trends, designing the fair to target buyers who are looking for freshness, international inputs and who have good product awareness. As always, the focus on accessories is an essential: on the one hand we have exclusive, high-end retail lines, and on the other, young brands with products that are interesting from the marketing standpoint and are featured by select retailers. Alongside of these are collections by known brands, established firms with a strong image – some of which have been showing at SUPER since the very first edition. And then, thanks to the scouting we do each season to find the most interesting and emerging talents who will be making the “fashions of the future”, there are lots of new names – over 40% of the total at this edition. Here, I refer also to the Super Talents, fashion designers from all over the world that Sara Maino of Vogue Talents selected for us, and to this edition’s innovation, the special project entitled Open Russian Fashion that we present together with the Russian Federation’s Ministry for Trade and Industry, dedicated to a selection of fashion designers on the new Russian stage. All this will be presented in the format that has made Super unique among fashion trade fairs. The distinctive circular structure that has been praised for its clarity and striking layout, plus the careful selection of exhibitors that has put a new slant on the rules of the trade fair game”.

– 200 brands will be presenting their new accessory and prêt-a-porter women’s collections for the 2015 spring-summer season;
– 30% of the brands are from abroad;
– 60% of the collections feature accessories, and 40% are prêt-a-porter labels;
– of the 6.000 buyers who attended the last edition (+18%), 1,200 came from abroad, from Japan, Switzerland, Spain, France, Germany, Russia, South Korea, China, Greece, Belgium, Austria, Hong Kong, United States, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Holland, and Sweden and from over 40 foreign countries.

SUPER is an accessory experience
The SUPERcool components of every outfit, accessories are indispensable elements of style, and play an important role in reworking the identities of multi-brand and department stores. Colors and amusing plays of shapes and materials come together in a creative whirlwind of hi-tech features, retro touches and a penchant for luxury that make bags, footwear, bijous, eyewear, scarves, hats and shawls the “closely watched subjects” of each and every season. For spring-summer 2015, SUPER features a selection of brands dedicated to those who want to make “research” into an essential and unique experience where the quality of the concepts is just as important as the quality of the product in terms of innovative materials and craft virtuosity.

SUPER is a stage for new talents
SUPER is the ideal platform for presenting collections characterized by research and innovation, because scouting is its “super tool”. In the SUPER TALENTS area, the fair turns the spotlights on the most interesting creatives on the world fashion scene and on the most promising brands that we will all be talking about soon. The stars – selected in cooperation with Sara Maino of Vogue Italia and Vogue Talents – are both acknowledged talents and young designers who are making waves around the world with their collections and who – in addition to countries such as Italy and the United Kingdom – hail from up-and-coming places on the fashion scene like the Philippines, Thailand, Ukraine, Austria and Israel. A totally new offering in styles and trends for the 2015 spring-summer season, from total looks to accessories to special capsule jewelry collections. a selection of Russian fashion’s best emerging brands exclusively at SUPER
A project-event realized in cooperation with the Russian Federation’s Ministry for Trade and Industry, that involves the participation in SUPER of 13 of Russia’s most promising women’s accessory and prêt-a-porter brands. A special area of the fair is entirely dedicated to the creative collections of some of the most talented Russian designers, leading names on one of today’s most interesting fashion scenes. Some of the brands featured and the protagonists of the project are: Katerina Fee, Maria Golubeva, Alexander Khrisanfov, LES’, Natali Leskova, Mineral Weather, Luda Nikishina, Osome2some, Georgy Rushev, Anna Slavutina, SOL’ Designers, Yanina Vekhteva and Natasha Weinstock.

A special Made in Sicily presentation
A project in cooperation with Regione Sicilia – Assessorato alle Attività Produttive (participation financed by the European Union), showcasing of a selection of 8 Sicilian brands at SUPER that stand out for the talent of their designers and the craftsmanship of their creations. SUPER N.4 continues to develop new fashion languages
with two important Fashion Film premieres: ASVOFF by Diane Pernet and the Berlin Fashion Film Festival. And on stage at Super also the trailer of “Le Italie della Moda. Menti e mani eccellenti” [Outstanding Minds and Hands. The Many Faces of Italian Fashions]

SUPER continues to back research and experimentation involving new languages and esthetic codes and, for this edition, will be hosting the productions of two of the most important Fashion Film Festivals in the world: ASVOFF by Diane Pernet and the Berlin Fashion Film Festival.
From Paris, SUPER will be premiering a selection of archive films “Fashioned Out” selected by Diane Pernet and Galeries Lafayette to be screened at the seventh edition of ASVOFF (21- 23 November 2014) at the Centre Pompidou, along with a special tribute to the acclaimed director Alejandro Jodorowsky and all the ‘Jodorowsky family’. Also exclusively for SUPER will be screenings of the winning films from the Berlin Fashion Film Festival, the Festival that recognizes and awards quality video content in the spheres of fashion, lifestyle and luxury.

And on air at Super, there will be also the trailer of “Le Italie della Moda. Menti e mani eccellenti” [Outstanding Minds and Hands. The Many Faces of Italian Fashions], the series about the people who make Italian fashion what it is, a Sky Arte HD production together with Pitti Immagine and Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana, curated by Angelo Flaccavento and directed by Francesco Imperato, realized on the occasion of Firenze Homwtown of Fashion.

On the occasion of the fourth edition of SUPER, Pitti Immagine will be once again working with ICE – Agenzia per la promozione all’estero e l’internazionalizzazione delle imprese italiane, the longtime partner of the Pitti Immagine fairs. Buyers from important markets such as Spain, Ukraine, South Korea, Hong Kong, Great Britain, Germany, Japan and Russia will be coming to Milan thanks to the efforts of ICE.

Once again, the Camera Italiana dei Buyer will be participating in SUPER: the fair has a special partnership agreement with the Camera to provide a series of services to its members and make their visits to the fair more enjoyable and fruitful.

Trenitalia is leading the way to SUPER. According to the terms of an agreement between Pitti Immagine and Trenitalia, buyers and exhibitors who travel to Milan by the Trenitalia Freccia service will enjoy savings of 30% and 10% off the base fares in first and second class, respectively.
