The first edition of northmodern, Scandinavia’s newest innovative design + lifestyle trade show in Copenhagen, will run from Sunday 18th – Tuesday 20th January 2015 in Bella Center, Copenhagen.
“The focus on attracting international buyers to Copenhagen is a very important part of the future design event and something we have done successfully for years at our fashion fair CIFF and is now going to transfer to design”, says Kristian W. Andersen, Fashion & Design Director.
A new collaboration with Muuto resulted in a lot more international buyers visiting the DesignTrade show in August and similar collaborations will be repeated at the coming northmodern trade show.
The new concept northmodern was introduced at the latest DesignTrade show and well received among exhibitors and visitors. Poul Madsen, CEO, Normann Copenhagen, said, “As part of a strategic cooperation Normann Copenhagen exhibited at DesignTrade for the first time. Here we had the opportunity to showcase the entire collection, and we met many of our customers. At the same time it was a success financially. We see great potential for the entire design industry in making Copenhagen the main design destination in Scandinavia. In order to attract international visitors Copenhagen must offer more than just a trade fair visit. northmordern must be the platform that brings together the exciting design events, exhibitions, networking opportunities. The biggest challenge Bella Center faces is to involve the rest of the design industry in Copenhagen. We are excited and looking forward to contribute with inputs to what is required for the project to succeed.”
