Rustic Soul / UK

Faced with the realism and the ephemeral nature of our hectic urban lives, the desire to find ourselves and return to our sources motivates us to search a new poetry; closer to nature. We rediscover basics elements, we return to our origins…the touch of stones and minerals, the traces of fossils. This is the quest of New Age followers at their gatherings in Santa Fee. A bohemian spirit under the influence of hippie years.

For women: A range delicately combining neutral and fragile shades evoking dusty rocks, desert roses, amethyst or sulphur yellow. These tints associate to create new, subtle harmonies; soft, feminine variations worked in layered transparencies.

For men: A muted range composed of coloured neutrals, stony tints in greyed tones, and soft dusty subtleties, dried vegetal shades. A soft, pale yellow light brightens both dark and light neutral.

Fabrics are ultra light, fluid and floaty; as if enveloping the body in a mist of chiffon, crêpe, pongee, fine irregular linen or cotton cloths, translucent cotton, nylon or viscose, tulle used in fine multilayers; printed, pin tucked, embroidered or printed. Tone-in-tone lace over fishnet meshes, satin and touches of lurex for slight, shiny mat contrasts. Nature’s influence is felt in the vegetal embroideries and prints of poetic herbariums, semi-erased: Dried flowers, honesty, and thistle for menswear. Importance of fine, delicate patterns, worked in sketch form like line drawings. A slightly more rustic aspect imitates the surface of stone or sand with marled, granular or crêpe effects.
Stitches are extremely simple, worked in fine gauge; right or wrong side jerseys, ungauged effects. Finishing is almost non-existent: Delicately rolled jerseys and ribs appear to detach from what looks on unfinished sweater.

A sylph-like silhouette playing on layering and multi-layers for soft, fluid volumes floating around the body like dresses, blouses, layered tank tops; occasionally with slightly structured bottoms in the form of straighter, neater pants and mini knit wrap over.

A modern poetry with transparent tunics and dresses hang as if suspended from their raised waists. Declination around uneven tucks placed, pin tuck yokes and panels, flounces and drawstrings, insert of lace and ribbons create bloused effects for diaphanous slip dresses and tops. Importance of heavy gauge knits for unstructured knit jackets and mini wrap over tops. Importance of raw cut finishes.

A sport spirit softened by soft graduated tones and blurred prints with clean, simple lines contrasting with the raw finishes. A relaxed look in washed and crumpled fabrics for jackets, blousons, pants, shirts, tops. A long line silhouette or else widened at the bottom with the new masculine Turkish pants. Also sport sophisticated contrasts created by limp blazers worn in duos with track pants. Play of textile construction and graduation effects in subtle monochromes. Lining or screen prints resembling rock crystals. Contrasting mat and shiny fabrics on wide trousers etc Modern poetry for polo tee-shirts, soft tee-shirts marked by discreet screen prints, multi-layered finishes, blurred prints.
